Twelve years ago, I never imagined that my passion for music could transform lives—including my own. I was working in a care home for people living with dementia as a laundry assistant. My life lacked self-worth, self-love, and purpose. I believed that a career doing what I loved—music—was just unrealistic. But one simple request changed everything.

I’ve always been the quiet type, finding solace in music since childhood. Growing up in a chaotic, toxic environment, music was my escape and a reliable friend. Fast forward to my days at the care home, where the managers, knowing about my love for music, asked if I’d bring my guitar and sing with the residents. I was buzzing with excitement! I prepared a few songs: Bob Dylan’s “Blowing in the Wind,” Doris Day’s “Que Sera Sera,” “Singing in the Rain,” and “Scarborough Fair.” These classics still rock my world and the residents I sing to today.
One of the most touching moments in my journey was when I saw the impact of music for well-being in a care home setting. Then, as I started singing "Let It Be" by The Beatles, something amazing happened. He began to shout the lyrics right along with me: “Let it be.” It was a jaw-dropping moment that reaffirmed my belief in the life-changing magic of music.

After a few years, I took a leap of faith and started my own business, Positive Vibes Music. The fear was real—What if I fail? What if I lose everything? What if I’m not good enough? But taking this brave step was the best decision I ever made.
Every week, I have the privilege of singing to amazing people in care homes, children and adults with special educational needs (SEN), and stroke victims. Seeing the joy on their faces and knowing that I am making a difference fills me with purpose and gratitude.
